SB 993 Moves Forward After Strong AFSCME Support

I have exciting news to share today!

AFSCME traveled to the State Capitol to testify in support of SB 993, one of our Lobby Day priority bills. We are proud to report that SB 993 was a major success, passing out of the Assembly Business and Professions Committee with no opposition.

A special shoutout to Clinical Social Workers Eileen Sigala and Karla Tyson from CHCF-Stockton, who joined us at the committee hearing to show their support.

We still have at least one more hurdle to clear before SB 993 reaches the Governor’s desk, so please stay tuned for updates.
