You’re Invited: AFSCME Local 2620 Board Meeting This Saturday

Dear AFSCME Local 2620 Members,

This Saturday, I am asking you to do something simple but powerful: Show up!

I want to personally invite you to attend our AFSCME Local 2620 Board Meeting this Saturday July 11th from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and see your union in action.

There are two options to join

  1. In person at the Sacramento office of 2620 located at 2295 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 140 Sacramento, 95833

  2. Zoom - link provided below

One of the commitments I made when I became your President was to build a union grounded in transparency, accountability, and action. That means making sure our members know what is happening, why decisions are being made, and how each of us can help move our Local forward.

This meeting is an opportunity to hear firsthand about the work your elected leadership is doing on your behalf. We’ll be discussing legislative advocacy, contract implementation, organizing efforts, financial and operational updates, and the challenges and opportunities facing our Local in the months ahead. You’ll also hear about the progress we’ve made together from growing our membership to advancing legislation that protects our professions and improves our workplaces.

But this meeting isn’t just about hearing updates. It’s about building a stronger union.

Strong unions are built by informed members who ask questions, share ideas, volunteer, and hold their leadership accountable. Every member who chooses to participate helps strengthen our collective voice at the bargaining table, in the Legislature, and in the workplace.

This year has already shown what we can accomplish when we work together. We set ambitious goals, welcomed more than 100 new members in a single campaign, advanced important legislation, and continued fighting for better working conditions across California. Those successes belong to every member who stepped forward.

Now it’s time to build on that momentum.

If you’ve ever wondered how decisions are made, wanted to become more involved, or simply wanted to see your union at work, this is your invitation.

Bring your questions. Bring your ideas. Bring your passion for public service.

The future of Local 2620 will not be shaped by a handful of leaders; it will be shaped by thousands of engaged members working together with a shared purpose.

I hope you’ll join us this Saturday and be part of that future.

In unity,

Carl L. Miller, JD, LCSW
