Sign the Petition: Protect Telework and Fair Working Conditions
AFSCME Local 2620 is asking members to take action in support of telework and fair workplace policies for California state workers.
We are supporting Assemblymember Alex Lee’s telework bill, AB 1729, and continuing to push for workplace policies that reflect the realities of our jobs, our families, and the services we provide every day. AB 1729 is currently titled “State employment: telework programs” in the California Legislature.
To build real momentum, we need members to take two actions:
First, sign the telework petition.
Signing the petition helps show that AFSCME Local 2620 members are united and engaged on this issue. Signing up for Lobby Days helps us take that message directly to legislators and advocate for real solutions.
Second, sign up to participate in Lobby Days.
Lobby Days is our opportunity to take this fight directly to the Capitol and make sure legislators hear from the workers affected by these decisions. By signing up, you are helping AFSCME Local 2620 advocate for fair telework policies, support AB 1729, and push for workplace solutions that reflect the realities facing state employees.
Telework is not just about convenience. It is about fairness, recruitment and retention, work-life balance, commuting burdens, office conditions, and respect for workers.
When workers stand together, we build pressure. When we speak with one voice, decision-makers have to listen.
Please complete both action steps and help us show that AFSCME Local 2620 is organized, engaged, and ready to fight for what workers deserve.
